The extra weight that a person carries, especially around the face, throat and chest areas, causes extra pressure on the airways during the relaxed sleep time. A common condition known as sleep apnea, where the airway blocks completely and the person actually stops breathing for a period, is becoming more and more prevalent in obese people. Sleep apnea is actually a very dangerous condition, that should be attended to medically as soon as possible.
If snoring has become a problem for yourself or someone in your house, then working out the cause of snoring can help you towards finding a cure. It may also require a visit to your family doctor to deal with this problem . If not dealt with correctly, snoring can actually contribute to other illnesses including diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular problems. It is the only way to help the snorer to become healthier and keep the rest of the family happy knowing that they will get a good nights sleep.
